1. Degree Qualification Applicants need to hold, on entry, a degree awarded by a United Kingdom higher education institution at a level of 2.2 or above, or recognised equivalent qualification. Decisions regarding the acceptability of such qualifications, including those awarded by overseas examining bodies, will be made by FIPC. A first degree comprises 300 HE credits of which 60 must be at Level 6 of QCF. If your degree is from a non-UK university you will need to approach ENIC to gain an equivalence certificate. 2. GCSE QualificationsThe Secretary of State has decreed that applicants for an initial teaching training course must have achieved a standard equivalent to a grade C/4 in the GCSE examination in English, Mathematics and Science. Applicants will be required to produce documentary evidence of their GCSE or equivalent qualifications (and degree if attained) at interview. 3. DBS Any offer of a place on one of FIPC’s programmes will be conditional, pending receipt of a satisfactory DBS. 4. Fees Fees for the course must be paid by given deadlines for participation in the course. 5. School Experience It is desirable that you have had at least two weeks work experience in a school before starting the programme in September. Many of our schools offer the School Experience Programme, details of which can be found at https:getintoteaching.education.gov.uk/
For the School Direct Salaried route, you should have ideally been working for 3 years or more, in an educational establishment. (Note: this route is not currently available)
